Fiberglass: Tri-Axial: 3 layers of fibreglass in different directions provide a stiffer, more responsive flex and greater torsional rigidity to give the board precision and power in a super stable and versatile package.
Snowboard Shape: Directional
The Scout has been designed to answer the question ‘I want a short & fat board but I don’t want to sacrifice performance’. The result is a more traditional shape with a wider platform that has been designed to allow you to surf bottomless powder like a pro and charge the resort at full speed.
When designing the Scout we started with the nose shape from our Archetype Series powder slayer and worked backwards. This wider shape combined with our Hover Camber profile acts like the hull of a ship, keeping you on top of even the deepest soft snow with ease. Unlike the Archetype though we kept this width profile along the whole length. Just 12-14mm of taper from nose to tail (depending on size) keeps the Scout feeling rock solid on the hard stuff, allowing you to lay down trenches and carve like a pro. Finishing up at the tail is a more traditional, lower profile shape with a notch cut in. This helps drop the tail when surfing the soft stuff but also keeps the ride super stable on hard snow. This versatility across all terrain was always our aim and makes the Scout the perfect companion for resort domination.
New for 1819 is our redesigned Smoothride Sidewall. This builds upon our original award winning technology and helps reduce our overall impact on the environment. A more efficient manufacturing process cuts waste without sacrificing the impact and vibration absorbing properties, helping to provide the smoothest ride possible. Fibreglass layups are also enhanced through the use of tri-axial glass that includes a pre-cured layer above the core for more response and torsional rigidity without adding weight. And of course it’s all finished off with the Channel mounting system for infinite stance adjustment.
